Training covers the organisation and facilitation of learning and development through the provision of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. It supports the development of Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) within the suppliers’ organisation.

BMT Asset Performance follows the System Approach to Training covering four elements: Analysis, Design, Delivery and Assurance of Training. The purpose of Element One: Analysis is to establish, within the context of the overall training system, ‘What is the requirement; is a new or amended training activity needed; and if so, what kind?’ This includes the provision of Training Needs Analysis (TNA), an assessment of the gap between the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the people in the organization currently possess and that which they require to meet the organisation’s objectives. The purpose of Element Two: Design is to determine ‘What the training activity should look like, who will deliver it and with what resources?’ Element Three: Delivery, comprises all activities necessary to deliver the training. The purpose of Element Four: Assurance is to ensure that the training is being delivered correctly and meets the requirements.
